Practical file guide
Convert WebP or PNG to JPG without uploading your image
A form asking for JPG will not necessarily accept a WebP downloaded from a website or a PNG screenshot. Renaming the extension does not change the image format. ClearFile decodes the selected image and saves a new copy in the format you choose, locally in your browser.
This browser tool needs no account. Your selected files stay on your device. Keep the original and check the download.
Choose the format for the destination
Check what the receiving app actually accepts. JPG is useful for photos and widely supported, but it does not retain transparency. If you need a transparent logo or an image with crisp small lettering, PNG may be more suitable when the destination accepts it. WebP can also retain transparency, but some upload forms reject that format.
For a WebP-to-PNG conversion, follow the same steps below and choose PNG instead. A PNG copy of a JPG does not recover detail that was already lost to compression. Keep your original so each new attempt starts from the best available source.
Convert the contents, not just the filename
Open Convert image and select one JPG, PNG or WebP file. Under Output format, select JPG. Choose Convert image, then inspect the preview before downloading. Your selected source file stays on your device, and the browser tool does not require an account.
ClearFile places transparent pixels on a white background when producing JPG. This can change the appearance of a logo designed for a dark background. Inspect the edges and any white text carefully; choose PNG instead if that background change is unsuitable.
Check size and dimensions independently
Changing format can change the byte size, but does not guarantee a smaller result or a particular KB limit. If the form asks for a specific width, use Resize image as well. Preserve proportions unless you deliberately want to stretch the picture.
If the resulting JPG is still too large, use Compress image on the converted copy and try an appropriate size target. Compare fine details with the original. Compression can make text less readable, and a strict size target may require smaller dimensions. Check the minimum dimensions before reducing them.
Open the copy you will actually submit
Download the converted image, open that saved copy and confirm the extension, dimensions and file size. Keep it in a folder where you can distinguish it from the original and earlier attempts. Select the checked copy when returning to the upload form.
This converter supports JPG, PNG and WebP. It is not an HEIC, SVG, animated GIF or RAW converter. If your original uses another format, export a supported copy from the app that created it rather than assuming a renamed file will work.
Try the next step
Keep your original and check the downloaded result. Report a problem or suggest a clearer explanation without attaching private files.
