Extract PDF pages: separate files or one smaller document

Check physical page positions

A PDF can have a cover, contents pages and printed numbering that begins later. The tool counts from the first physical page in the file. If a cover comes first, the page printed as “1” might be the second or third page you need to select.

Open the original and identify the intended pages by position. Keep a copy of the complete document. Removing a cover or appendix can change the context, so confirm that the recipient permits a partial document.

Save one separate PDF per selected page

Open Split PDF and select the document. In Pages, enter a range such as 1-3, 5. That selects four pages and produces four separate PDFs, packaged in a ZIP. Leave the field blank if you want every page split into its own file.

Choose Split PDF and download the ZIP. Extract it before opening or attaching the page PDFs. Their filenames contain the original page numbers. A range does not become a multi-page document in this tool.

Keep selected pages together in one PDF

For one document containing the selected pages, use Organize PDF. Select the original, choose Load pages and remove the pages you do not need. Keep at least one page. You can also reorder or rotate the remaining pages.

Choose Save organised PDF and download the result. If you make a mistake before saving, Reload original pages restores the original arrangement. The original on your device is not overwritten.

Check the output and document restrictions

Open the actual download. Verify its page count, first and last page, order and orientation. Check that you did not mistake printed numbering for physical page positions. If a form allows only one PDF, do not attach the ZIP from Split PDF.

These tools do not unlock password-protected documents. Obtain an authorised unlocked copy when needed. Creating a new PDF can affect digital signatures or specialised form workflows, so preserve the original and check the recipient’s requirements before replacing it.
